Best Western Plus Barclay Hotel

I've had wonderful experiences with this hotel. I have stayed here a few times and have no complaints. I recently had to cancel a stay there due to poor weather and the staff were very understanding and helpful. I would highly recommend!

The Barclay is the nicest chain hotel in Port Alberni. The building is generally in good condition, albeit showing its age a little. The rooms are nice - look to have been renovated maybe 10 years ago? They have been well maintained. The bed and pillow were comfortable and to my liking. The curtains are black out so sleeping in isn't a problem. Bathrooms are fine - no complaints (other than the tub drain being plugged). Didn't try the pool or hot tub. The fitness center was better than expected - a good number of pieces of equipment, along with some dumbbells. Front desk staff was friendly. Daily room service was good, towels were changed every other day. The nightly price for the Barclay is higher than others in town, but you get what you pay for.

This was a very enjoyable ble stay during the Potlatch. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with maid service every day. Very quiet at night. Choice of Sports Lounge or Cafe. Both were excellent. My only disappointment was that both venues were closed on Sunday night for dinner.

Great Hotel, In Port Alberni. Very Quiet Place, Staff Is Amazing. Great Amenities Such As Sauna, Gym, & Pool. The Gym Opens at 6am, The Lady In The Lobby Was So Nice & Opened It Up For Me at 4:30am ! Super Appreciative & Thankful For The Staff At This Hotel Location For Best Western.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay. Great location. It was clean, the beds were comfortable. The room was quiet. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our stay made the destination wedding perfect!!

My server, Amanda, exceeded all my expectations. Her attention to detail and kindness made me feel truly welcome and accepted in a town that’s still new to me. Outstanding Service During Our Professional Development Event We recently stayed at the Best Western in Port Alberni while hosting a two-day professional development event, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional service we received. Vicki was an absolute pleasure to work with. She supported us in organizing our catering and conference room setup, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and calm, supportive approach made a huge difference in the success of our event. A very special shout-out goes to Annika at the front desk. She truly saved us when we realized we had forgotten a few important resources that were imperative for our sessions. Without hesitation, she went above and beyond to help us by making last-minute prints on short notice. Her kindness, efficiency, and willingness to step in made a stressful moment completely manageable. Wonderful service and outstanding staff all around. We felt genuinely supported throughout our stay and would absolutely return for future events. Highly recommended.

Older hotel .. but the newest in Port Alberni. It was built in 1980. It's name does have a heritage going back over 100 years.
